How much do you charge?

The price you are charged will depend on the services you require and the size of your business. All fees are agreed in advance so you will never get a nasty surprise. Also, you can spread the cost to make it more affordable for you and your business.

I cant afford an accountant right now, what should I do?

A good accountant will provide you with the service you need, a great accountant will be invaluable in your business and save you money.

Do I need an accountant?

If you are a sole trader, then you should be able to file your tax return yourself, although many prefer to use an accountant to ensure their return is correct and to save them money and time.

If you’re a limited company director then you can file your own accounts and tax return, however without the knowledge and experience that accountants have, you may run into a few problems. Also, if you are looking for finance, your accounts will often be required to be signed by a qualified accountant.

Is it important to use a qualified accountant?

It may surprise you, that in the UK anybody can set up an accountancy practice and call themselves an accountant. However, the accounts they sign may not be accepted by financial institutions such as loan companies, banks etc

Using a qualified accountant ensures that you are using someone who has the knowledge and experience to do the job properly.

For example, to become an ACCA member in practice you need to have completed all your exams plus have a years experience. Then before you can set up a practice you need to have another three years of experience signed off by a qualified accountant, Plus you need to complete 40 hours of training each year to ensure that your skills are up to date.
